THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP PERSIAN!!

I am frequently getting requests for Teacup Persians.
Since I was unfamiliar with this "breed", I gained some knowledge, and I have to say I am horrified that such a thing actually exists.
I have not seen or heard of any Australian Cattery, breeding "Teacups", and I sincerely hope nobody will start to do so. Please take note that we STRICTLY breed according to the standards of our Cat Council, and these Standards say:

BODY:    Cobby, thick set and low on the legs, deep in chest, equally massive across the shoulders and rump, with a well rounded rib cage.  Medium to large in size.  Back to be level without dip or hump. Body condition solid to firm.

And further :

Note:  It is particularly desirable to eliminate rangy, flat-sided, narrow-chested, spindle-legged, long-tailed cats, with long noses, large ears pointed and upright; eyes set on the bias or close together, receding chins, light bones and a general foxy face.  A slight shortening of coat across the shoulder arc is not uncommon in older kittens when the coat is changing. Coat length and colour, change enormously between summer and winter due to moulting.

The type standard is the same for all Persians and Exotics.

If, however, a kitten turns out to be smaller than its litter-mates, it is called a "runt", and will be undesirable for any ethical breeder to be sold for breeding purposes, or kept for breeding. We would sell them desexed, as a pet, to a loving home only!

How anyone can breed to the exact opposite of the breed standards is beyond me, but then again...money hunger knows no boundaries.

Please be assured, you will never find a "Teacup" Persian in our cattery! We are very proud to be able to continue and uphold the standards, and we strife for the betterment of the beautiful Persian cat breed at all times.  Large and beautiful!

Thank you for your understanding.
